Itinerary

Start and end in Banff, Alberta

Day 1

The Bow Valley Parkway

Our adventure begins at the historic Banff train station. Here you will meet the rest of your group and the guides. Introductions will be made, rented a bike? We will have it ready and waiting. We will saddle up and begin the journey to Lake Louise. We are starting by traveling along the marshy land surrounding Vermillion lakes, which offers a unique ecosystem compared to others within the bow valley. From here, we follow the Bow River through the parkway. The Bow Valley Parkway is the original highway in between the towns of Banff and Lake Louise. It is a beautiful scenic, quiet road to take between towns. There will be plenty of opportunities to stop for taking pictures and soak in the sheer beauty of the Sawback Range. At one of the many picturesque viewpoints, lunch will be served. After lunch, the group will continue to Lake Louise. From here, you will have two options. You can put your feet up and relax, or you can continue, add more mileage to your day and visit Moraine Lake. If you choose to continue on to Moraine Lake, you will be rewarded with one of the most photographed areas within Banff National Park. The view is so iconic it was featured on Canada’s $20 bill. In the evening, we will be rewarded for our efforts with a wonderful group dinner where we can debrief and talk about the day. Throughout this trip our accommodation will be in the heart of scenic Lake Louise, which has 360-degree mountain views, the rooms are delightfully well kept, and your guides are always available should you have any issues. 1A from Banff – Lake Louise: 58km, +674m.  Moraine Lake option:  29km, +525m  Total: 87km, 1199m gain.

Day 2

Lake Avenue

It starts with you waking up in the highest village in Canada and traveling to the highest point on the Icefield Parkway. Today's ride takes us upstream, trailing the Bow River to its headwater Bow Lake. Bow Pass is the highest point on the Icefields Parkway, which is positioned in the heart of the main range of Canadian Rockies. Here you'll appreciate that the Peaks are noticeably more jagged, higher, and overall larger, which provides a distinctively different vista to yesterday's ride. We will continue riding to Bow Summit, from here we will be rewarded with magnificent views of Peyto Lake with his intense shades of blue and green and the Mistaya River valley stretching for over 40km. From here, the trip is all downhill; literally, we will ride down, and lunch will be served at Bow Lake, allowing you to relax and enjoy the remarkable views and a lunch spot you will never forget. After lunch we have a relaxing ride back to the hotel in Lake Louise, here we will enjoy our final dinner as a group. Lake Louise – Bow Lake: 80km, +746m Bow Lake - Bow Summit: 12Km, +110m *Option to do less or more mileage on day 2

Day 3

Locals favourite

On the final day of our tour through Banff National Park, we will start with a short transfer from Lake Louise to Castle Junction. From here, we will be riding 30km into the town of Banff. Once we have arrived in Banff, your guides will take you through the tourist town; we will explore the area in two different loops, one more central to town, the other further out to Lake Minnewanka. The ride will end at our starting point, and we will have a final group lunch to commemorate the last three days spent together. Castle Junction – Golf course loop – Tunnel Mtn rd – Minnewanka loop – Banff Train Station: 40-80km, up to +780m.
